36 The people of ·Judah [^Lthe land] ·chose [^Ltook] Josiah’s son Jehoahaz and made him king in Jerusalem in his father’s place.

² Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he became king, and he ·was king [reigned] in Jerusalem for three months.
